description: In 2007, Alejandro Jodorowsky answered Cristián Warnken’s question “what psicomagic act will heal the world?”, by explaining how months ago Chile did a magical act by choosing a woman as president. He declared the need to become “parents” of Latin America. And described how landlocked countries, due to their geopolitical condition, are motherless. He encouraged the need to “open” this lands to the sea, and on that metaphor, open them to development and to the infinite. Historically, the condition of being landlocked implied a disadvantageous position since it separates the country from the wealth of marine coasts, such as fishing and commerce. Coastal zones are more prosperous and denser than landlocked one. Inspired by Jodorowsky’s poetic action, we present NACIONARIO REVISADO©2010, a reviewed catalogue of the 41 existing landlocked countries [seven of them are grouped], whose surfaces have been extended through a 30 meters wide border-strip, towards the sea. Almost 3000km2 of new surface, tunnels or lifted platforms, to generate developable surfaces. This will reactivate economic conditions and will help rethink urban-planning and architectural design under new border constraints.
information on cards: country/existing area(kms2)/closest distance from the border to the sea (kms)/potentially gained area on border lines (considering a 30mts wide strip)/new total area(Km2)
